How to Clean Glass-Ceramic StoveTop without Ceramic cleaner or baking soda.

I've tried the ceramic cleanser - works pretty good but its costly and uses chemicals.

I've tried the baking soda method.... messy and does not work that well!!! Left a white film (by the way also tried the baking soda method to clean my oven with again same white coating/film left behind which reappears every time I use my oven... not a big fan of that). Had to wipe and wipe and wipe to get the white film off that was left behind.

What costs me the least and works the best? Ordinary dish washing soap! I run a sink full of water and dish soap for the dishes not destined for the dishwasher. Meanwhile, I turn all of my burners on low-medium. I take a watery soapy, soapy sponge and squeeze a few sponge fulls onto the stove. It begins to evaporate and cook the water on the stove. I add a couple more sponges if need be but once soapy water is hot and cooking the stains off, I then turn the burners off. I begin lightly scrubbing the surface of each burner with the hot soapy water around and around until I can see that the burners are free of stains and goo. If you have a severely stained burner with overflow food, just add more soapy water and let it cook it off. Rinse sponge and wipe stove top with clean hot water until top of stove is clear of soapy water and relatively dry with the sponge. You can follow up with a dry towel if you wish, but with the stove top still a little hot, once you've rinsed the surface with a wet sponge, it will dry pretty quick to a nice shine.

Done. What did it cost me? No more than a little dish soap and water which was already in my sink for my dishes.

Cheers! :o)
